A few weeks ago, Luke had a conference in Southern CA and I joined him for a few days at the very end. Grammy & Papa N graciously came to our home to watch the kiddos for us, and let me tell you, it felt good to be FREE for a awhile! It's been 4 yrs since we've been away together (kai was one) so it was a much needed break. The flight was great, the hotel was amazing (how can you go wrong with the Ritz?) and I quickly learned not to order room service. My first morning there, I woke up starving, Luke was at a meeting and I ordered ONE omelet and a CUP of coffee- and the price tag.........$42!!! Oopsie! We ate at some awesome restaurants...African, French, Italian, Mexican & American....the lunch and dinners were beyond good. I'm still craving the Mexican restaurant "Javiers"-the food was incredible! It was in Newport Beach and you felt like a celeb walking in there(-: No spotting of "The Hills" or "The OC" cast...awe)-: Luke and I walked the beach, did some shopping in Laguna Beach and lazed around by the pool. Luke ventured out boogie boarding as the hotel was on the ocean and had me panicked for a good half hour that I would never see him again and would have to fly home alone to 3 little kids! But we came back refreshed and are ready to go again(-:

Sounds like a nice little getaway Janine! I am so jealous! Anything to get out of this frigid weather...
