Whew~ What a weekend....

This weekend was amazing. We managed to pack in alot of things and now I'm ready to crash. My sister flew in on Thursday to join me, my Mom and Lisa for the Joyce Meyer conference held at Ressurection Life Church this weekend. It was such an uplifting seminar encouraging us to acknowledge everything that is ours in Christ, pursuing and accessing the peace that God has already given us, and learning to walk in the Spirit (not by our emotions). Those were just a few of the key things that really spoke to my heart.  This lady has a way with words-if you ever have the chance, check her out on TV. Her knowledge of the word is incredible and she certainly doesn't beat around the bush in communicating it. It was also a great time bonding with us girls. On Friday in between sessions, we did what we do best...pedicures & shoppping(-: It's not often that I have this one on one time with my Mom and sister so this was a treasured weekend. Saturday, we skipped the last session to get a little extra sleep and watch Kai's first soccer game. It was hilarious. I think he enjoyed posing for the camera more than he did chasing the ball. I'm sure he'll "get it" soon, but the highlight was the victory tunnel and snack. Go figure. They won 3-2-yay! Saturday was also my Dad's 69th Birthday so we decided on an impromptu dinner as I managed to come up with a last minute sitter while he drove to GR to join all of us for dinner at the Blue Water Grill. It was such a fun evening! We sat right next to the live band and had fun dancing in our seats while eating dinner. So nice to spend Dad's birthday with him!  And I bet you're wondering why the picture of the prom dresses? Ha! I had called the restaurant to make reservations and they were really booked because it was the weekend of prom. As I was getting ready, I remembered I had my sister and I's prom dresses hanging downstairs. Yes, the ones we wore in 1985 and 1994! Since it was prom night, I thought it was appropriate to wear our dresses to dinner! But Luke nipped that one with a big evil eye, so I decided to keep the peace with my husband and change(-:  Not before a photo shoot though! So now the weekend is over, Luke left for India this afternoon and I'm looking forward to a quiet week with just me and the kids. I know, high hopes.
