4th of July
4th of July snuck upon us again this year and we found ourselves out at our favorite place for the weekend-Grand Haven. All the kids had a great time, but this year was especially fun watching Becket really get into it. He is such an expressive little guy, so he kept us in smiles all weekend catching many of these 1sts (not necessarily the 1st time he's done these things, but the year it's starting to sink in(-:) We went to the 4th of July parade in Ferrysburg and the kids sure made out on the candy. As always, they LOVE to get as much candy as they can, but NEVER ask to eat it. I'm ok with that! Aria really got into the groove of chasing the candy thrown at her and giving out smiles to everyone with a bucket who could possibly throw her a handful. Kai LOVED the old cars (as did Becket) and Beck spent most of his time pointing at the parade and carrying around fistfuls of loot. They also got the chance at doing a few of their "own" fireworks this year thanks to Grammy & Papa N. Sparklers and Poprocks were a huge hit. And yes, we let our 19mo old carry around his own sparkler. Of course with a tense Mommy standing within arms reach. He LOVED whipping those poprocks around and would jump in awe of each and every one. Aria couldn't get enough either anxiously running to daddy for more once she would throw her handful. We also wheeled them down to the BIG fireworks and as always they loved the show (and the popcorn daddy always has to buy). Becket managed to entertain the audience pre-show by dancing around and well, just being Becket. He sat there with wide eyes the entire time, Aria just sat there and chatted and commented on each one-mostly with an oooohhh and aaaaahhh or a "Purple is my favorite color" or "Ooooh, pink is my favorite color". Kai snuggled up with Grammy & Papa and watched with tired eyes. They all crashed around midnightwhich made for a fun next day(-: Love these years and LOVE these kids!
