I'm still wrapping my mind around what took place this blessed Easter Sunday. After Kai accepted Jesus into his heart, a few weeks later, he informed us that "God told him to be baptized". I about fell over. Part of me wanted him to wait. I wasn't sure he really understood the magnitude of the decision he just made and his Grammy & Papa N were in FL. But as I tried convincing him to wait, I stopped in my tracks. Why would I encourage him to wait? Why not NOW? It was important for him to learn to act when God leads....something I'm still working on myself. So on Easter Sunday, our sweet boy went forward to be baptized. He had been counting down the days weeks before and had told just about everyone he knew that he was going to be baptized on Easter. He also invited practically our whole neighborhood(-: The night before, he was so nervous. We prayed together and not once did he even hint that he wanted to "back out". He sat through the whole Easter service and listened intently as our pastor shared the Gospel and the sweet resurrection story. It was such a powerful service. At the end, Kai went up to be baptized. He stood there in line shaking, but when it was his turn, he marched right up into the water without hesitation. We were all in tears and praising God for this big step! It was a beautiful morning....38 people made a decision to make Jesus Lord of their lives, Kai and 34 others were baptized and we all got to celebrate our Risen Savior! As a gift from a family member, he was given a devotional for boys. Every spare minute he is reading that devotional. He brings it everywhere he goes, including school and soccer practice. He is reading it to kids on the bus. And last night he told me that he loves that book more than his dirtbike. Now that's a hunger for God's word! It's more than this Mama's heart can take. I'm so thankful, so blessed, and so proud of my #1 son!
