Enrolled and too smart for pre-school?

Kai is officially enrolled in Canterbury Creek Farm School for this fall. For those of you that know me well, you may laugh at this decision of my son rolling around in pig poop two days a week, but it actually is a really neat little school that will provide a little diversity for this "city" kid in a non traditional setting. However, as of our conversation last week, I may have reason to believe that we may have to forfeit the deal and lose our $170. You be the judge.

(Setting: we are driving in the car to our new development)

Kai: Hey MOM! I just saw a big red barn.
Me: Really?
Kai: Yeah! And it has a ton of animals in it too. It's SO cool!
Me: Do you know that you will get to go to school where they have a big red barn?
Kai: I would LOVE to go to school in a big red barn. Will there be lots of animals?
Me: YUP!
There's a pause for a few minutes.....
Kai: I'm really sorry Mom, but it looks like I won't be going to school this year because I WON'T be going to the bathroom on the potty(well, that just came out of the blue!)
Me: Well, I guess you're going to miss out on all the fun with the other kids that go on the potty
Kai: Whatever Mom!
Me: No, I'm serious Kai. They won't let you come to school unless you are going on the potty.
Kai: Oh well, guess I won't be going to Farm School!

Unbelievable. It's our hope that he has a change of heart in 6 months. Otherwise, my non-forceful parenting methods may be tested(-:

seriously, this is so my son. he is finally potty trained with pee...but not poop...but at least he only goes once a day at night. I went through every method of bribing, threatening, everything. your little conversation with Kai sounds like Carter. They are tooo smart for their ages. They know exactly what they are doing.
