I just cant keep up!!

It seems like my blog posts are getting longer and less frequent as so many things are happening lately and I cant seem to keep up. I dont want to end the blogging as I would LOVE to get all of these posts over the past year/s bound into a book so we can reflect back over the years and relive what has happened as it all seems like a blink of an eye.

We've had a busy and fun July despite the not so great weather. Trips to the Meijer Gardens with the neighbor kids, Millenium Park with old friends, playdates, many trips to the beach and most recently our week at the Coast Guard Festival. The kids participated in many activities: the race/run where Kai and Daddy ran their first race together. It was 1 mile and Kai ran the entire time! He finished in just under 10 minutes. I was so proud(-: He was telling everyone for weeks ahead of time that he was running a race with his daddy and they were going to win! Aria was super excited as she got to participate in the tot-trot. She ran through that obstacle course as fast as she could! And of course we scored several t-shirts that will want to be worn all year long...ugghh. Then of course there was the carnival (can I just say I could sit there all day and watch people- where do these freaks come from??) both Kai and Aria rode all of the kiddie rides over and over-it's great having 2 thrill seekers-they thrive off eachother. The parade was a big highlight- we staked out our "territory" this year and had an awesome spot. We packed lunches, loaded the kids up in the bike trailer and biked down with our chairs and blankets. We got lots of excercise-whew! The kids are still carrying around their candy everywhere they go, sleeping with it, you know the drill. And very seldom they ask to eat it, which i think is great! We also trucked them all down to the best fireworks ever- Coast Guard Fireworks! Even little Becket had the 11:00pm experience of watching the sky light up. It was precious as he sat there wide eyed the whole time- i could kick myself for not having my camera!

Kai has been learning many new sports on the beach- his latest is skimboarding! We bought him his own skimboard while in FL last year and he was so excited to learn. He also has an obsession with ladybugs lately- and now asks me to take pictures of them before he lets them go. Oh boy.

Aria has been "trying" the potty alot lately and goes every once in awhile. She never tires of "trying" though...I'm hoping soon we'll have one more out of diapers. She's so into baby dolls lately and loves to change their poopy diapers. Over and over. She's got some new girlfriends in the neighborhood that are 4 times her age- she just loves them. They are over here just about everyday playing with her and Becket and teaching them new things...she has them wrapped around her finger. I'll be bummed when school starts and I know she certainly will)-:

Becket is on a roll- he recently picked up crawling and all of a sudden crawled across the room one day. He's been on the go ever since and boy is it a pain! If you know Becket you know he spits up constantly and now that he's on the move, it's everywhere! Thank God most of my main floor is hardwood or else I'd be in trouble! He's definately the baby that will be into everything...he's so ambitious and on the go! And super happy about it I must say. He's also loving "finger foods" lately- I'm still pretty nervous to give him things, but he is seeming less and less interested in his babyfood and wants what you're eating. He'll sit there and beg for it- awwhh. So most of the time i give in and watch him gag it down...i guess that's how they learn, right?

August will bring some fun trips back home to my parents, reuniting with old friends, family pictures, a summer bash and the best topping of the summer...labor day weekend at the Portage Lake cottage....it will be here before I know it!
