"The Last Resort"

So, we haven't officially decided, but we are close to naming our new cottage "The Last Resort". It really is the last resort for us on many levels(-: We love our Labor Day Tradition of hanging out with the Kreiders, Bosschers and whomever else we can fit! We always used to go to Portage Lake, but this year it moved to our new place and we are just thrilled to start making memories there! The place needed a major makeover....before and after photos will come later...and after a summer full of hard work and nights at home alone with a husband doing his best to finish it, we spent our first official weekend out there Labor Day Weekend. The weather could have been better, but we didn't let that stop us. What an amazing, relaxing weekend. And of course, we extended it too long as we always do, getting home at 8pm on Monday night, still having to bathe all 4 kids, pack lunches, fill out all their school forms, set out school clothes, make signs and the lists go on. BUT, it was ALL WORTH IT! We were so happy to share it with some of our besties "The Kreiders". Our kids play so well together and we are dreading the day when we won't be able to "allow" them to all bunk up together. But until then, let the cottage sleep overs begin! Here is a glimpse into our weekend in pictures:
Carys with her friend Mollsie keeping her company at lunch

Labor Day Tradition: Pedis/Manis by Auntie Bradi. Everyone included, regardless of sex.  Kai picked out blue sparkles this year....we're movin on up!
Movie Time in the loft
Daddy's entertaining the kids with a campfire and smores
Yeah, she's only been home two weeks, but hey a little time alone and a chocolate graham cracker to naw on isn't SO bad!
These sweeties play so well together. They kept themselves busy the entire weekend.
Oh boy, and these TWO. They decided to go for a romantic run on the beach one morning. Here they are stretching out and puzzling poor Molly as she watches.
Can't have a Labor Day without a night out to Silver Lake and The Whippy Dip. New playground=bonus!
Best peanut butter cup flurries EVER. And here Brad orders a banana glacier! What the heck were you thinking Bradley!?
Exploring on the beach. They found all sorts of "treasures".
Look how old they are already! Seems just like yesterday we were carrying the older two down the beach in our baby Bjorns!
A little nakey creek exploring(-: Whiskey creek is about a mile down from our place. Our kids love to walk down there and catch frogs and make dams.
The single best reason our boys LOVE the cottage. Enough said. Naughty Becket Jude.
Bosscher kids join us. They were all excited to get down to the beach. A little cold though. Dad's took them tubing on Stoney Lake instead.
Meal time on the unfinished sun porch.
Sikkemas & Van Wierens joined us Sunday night. 14 kids, 10 adults and a few more neighbors made for a fun impromptu party. SO.MUCH.FUN!!
