Happy 65th Birthdays from some kids that love you a lot!
This weekend we had the priviledge of surprising Luke's parents by hosting a 65th Birthday Party. We entertained about 50-60 guests and it turned out AWESOME if I must say so myself. The guests of honor were thoroughly surprised (maybe shocked is a better description) as they reunited with family and friends going way back. We prepared hors dourves and a menu that included fresh smoked salmon (from http://www.thefreshmarket.com/ - for those of you who haven't been there yet, you HAVE to go!), grilled jumbo shrimp, bruschetta, many dips, chocolate dipped strawberries, fruit skewers, sliced tomatoes w/fresh mozzerella & capers, artichokes/stuffed olives, and the list goes on. It was yummy! The cake was also a big hit! Not only was it really cool, it was very yummy! I put together a memory album for them and gathered stories about their life and included some pictures. That was a hoot! Overall, it was a wonderful night and Luke and I were delighted to be able to finally have the opportunity to give them something special. They have sacrificed so much for their kids and it's not often that we get these opportunities. So here's to many more Happy Birthdays Ed & Sandy!
