This past weekend, we packed our Explorer to the brim and headed to Portage Lake where our friends Brad & Bradi hosted us at their relatives cottage. Other friends, Nick and Katie joined us and we all squeezed into the 3 bedroom place right on the lake. We had great food, daily trips to the icecream shop, boat rides to Lake MI and the beautiful secluded beaches, and the list goes on. The guys got a little waterskiing in, and us girls took an afternoon and went into Manistee to do a little shopping downtown. My favorite were those few minutes that all 6 kids were sleeping and we could all relax on the beach, indulge in our "People" mags, have a refreshing drink and catch some rays.The kids had a ball....each couple has two and they are all the same age! Ok, within a few weeks of eachother. It was cute to see them play together and build summer memories. Kai is still talking about his time at the cottage and I'm sure this is just the beginning of the daily reminders(-: It was a great way to end the summer-although we are sad to see it go!

Ps. No, Kai's face was not "dirty" the whole weekend- he fell in our driveway before leaving and it left some bad marks)-:
