Mothers Tea

This week Kai's class held a Mother's Tea. I always look forward to these events where it's just me and my boy! This year it was a "dutch" theme and we had time together to make picture frames, get our pics taken, play games, etc. Then we had the "tea" where they served us dutch coffee, dutch cookies, chocolates, etc. They had a program where they sang us all the songs they have been learning and it was so touching to see Kai praising the Lord! He has never been much of a singer, but I really saw another side of him. The teacher was telling us during the program that they learned some dutch words and would sing them in the next song. She said one special word they learned was "Mooder" (sp?) which means mother in dutch. It was silence as they were about to begin their song and Kai belts out from the bottom of his heart "MY MOODER IS THE KING OF OUR HOUSE!" Everyone turned to look at me laughing histerically and congratulating me on my "status" at home. HA! That kid never ceases to make me laugh. They also performed a "dutch" dance. Kai's partner was Noelle (one of a twin so she is his same size(-:), but at the last minute he was switched to Olivia whom is much taller. They did a great job! I literally started cracking up when I saw them walking into the room single file. I know Kai is short, but I didnt realize HOW SHORT he was until I saw him next to all the other kids. He's the same size as the tiny twin girl and the rest are literally a head or two taller. AWE!!! Luke and I know the feeling Kai! This was one of my best dates with Kai- I loved it!
