Home Sweet Home

Last night Luke's Grandpa Sterenberg entered the presence of Jesus. Just stop and think about that for a moment.....one day, all who believe will be in the presence of our Lord and Saviour. As we got the news just minutes after he passed, it was awesome to think that he was right then meeting Jesus. He always loved celebrations, so I think his funeral should be just that! Grandpa "Great" as we called him around our home, was 96 yrs old and lived a very long and good life. Even though we knew the time was near, it doesn't make it any easier for those he left behind. We will always have special memories of him - He was one who loved his own birthday, a devoted follower of Christ, an entrepenuer in many ways (wrote a book on his life in his 80's and sold it!), tough, loved to sing, a witty magician, a sparkle in his eye everytime he would see his great grandkids, and STRONG genes. It's always been a big joke that the "Sterenberg genes" are so strong that no inlaw could ever compete(-: Maybe that's why I have two blue eyed blondies that look like their dad, who in turn resembles his mom, who in turn resembles her dad-Grandpa Great. Which leads me to the picture of the two heads....when Kai was born I couldn't figure out where he got his round shaped head from....months later we went to visit Grandpa Great and TaDaaa!!! There was no mistaking where his noggin came from(-: Please pray for the Sterenberg family as they grieve the loss of their father and grandfather this week.

Neat blog J9. The legacy our ancestors leave is always bittersweet.
We're thinking of you!
